"Fantastic local restaurant with an excellent chef and host, worth a visit and the quality of the food is from a very high caliber."

"Looking at reviews, I wonder if we’re talking about the same place? Maybe it was chef’s day off! We thought we’d treat ourselves to lunch out and the Manor House was recommended. It was so disappointing. We’d read the menu online and I’d already selected...what I wanted: panko squid rings and scallop dish of the day. This was encouraging as it suggested somewhere that offers a sophisticated choice. But when we got there neither of those things appeared on the menu. It turned out to be ok but a fairly basic burger and stuff from freezer to over to plate. I could have bought my scampi peas and chips from Iceland and cooked them at home much cheaper. There was nothing else on the menu I fancied. My message to the proprietor is to either put your current menu on your website so that people know the choice or to say that it is subject to variation and to ring to find out. Really spoiled my day. I was expecting a special meal but there was nothing special about frozen scampi and frozen peas"

"This review conflates an initial takeaway order followed by a visit to the restaurant. In both cases we experienced friendly service and our order came quickly. Portion sizes were good and flavours were great. I am not sure that the in-restaurant prices are the cheapest but I suppose you get what you pay for."
