"Took my daughter down for the evening quiz. Staff and patrons were all friendly and welcoming. It was an extremely relaxed and fun atmosphere and we cannot wait for the next event. A truly welcoming and family pub."

"We stayed on the campsite for the weekend were looking forward to a lovely anniversary meal at the restaurant. We have visited numerous times over the last few years had a brilliant experience. Unfortunately the menu this time was very uninspiring basically just an expensive pub menu, with meals that I could get at my local pub (burger, pizza, fish chips, lasagne etc). On previous visits, the menu was more inspiring with a varied selection of dishes. When we arrived the service was good but then became slow we had to wait an hour for our food. We were very disappointed with the menu our visit probably won’t be returning."

"It was our first time at Johnson of Old Hurst. We met some family who recommended the farm for the kids. The farm is great for the kids and has a variety of animals including a bear, a wild cat and also a tropical enclosure....It also has play areas for the kids to enjoy. The thing which made me write this review was the Stake House! We didn’t plan on eating whilst visiting the farm, however the Stake House looked really nice so we decided to have a late lunch. First of all the standard of food was very high. I ordered the Tomahawk stake and I can honestly say it was the most tender and tastiest stake I have ever eaten. The side positions of chips, onion rings and veg were also very plentiful! The only thing that topped the Tomahawk stake was the host. I believe his name was Nicholas, a South African gentleman, but he was the most welcoming, friendly and funny host. He was incredibly interactive with the kids too. The day was such a great experience and the kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Although we live abit of a distance away, I will definitely be returning. Thank you for such a great day!! (The pictures don’t do the meal justice, also more chips etc were brought out after the photo was taken)."

"This is a great location for either golf and food with friends or as a family day out playing pitch and putt then bowling. The staff are really great and helpful. The quality of the food is really impressive, I’ve never had a bad meal, and the prices are really reasonable. Great place."
