"“Fine dining” in Samal Island We were looking for places to eat in Samal and saw this place on google maps. They don’t have a MENU (tried searching online) but starters are P200+ and main courses are P500+. We were put on the spot when we went there because we didn’t know it was fine dining. We paid P1,300 (for 2 people 2 starters and 2 main courses) The owner said there was no menu but read the available dishes to us. Not a good experience for me because I wanted to decide what I was getting without being pressured and deciding on the spot because he was waiting. There were no prices when he read the food items. We had to ask him and he was rude when he answered. We tried talking to the owner but he was being very sarcastic. Their decor can be updated so it compliments the food prices. We didn’t know that it was fine dining because the place looked old."

"I am not giving 5 stars here because this is the best place i have been to, i am giving 5 stars because of a unique combination of factors you will not find easy on Samal Island. The menu is impressive in its range and modest pricing. We had shakes, all very good, one medium pizza, fair, and a variety of other foods, all good and reasonable. The real standout for me: when i visit an Italian restaurant for the 1st time (their menu is more than Italian but much of it is pasta and pizza), and i see pesto on the menu, i always give it a try. I ask always if it is made with fresh basil 1st. Here it is. And i will say, i have been coming to Philippines for 10 years and this was THE BEST pesto pasta i have had anywhere in the country and would hold it up there in the top 3 pestos i have had anywhere! So any time a restaurant can meet or match my highest benchmarks for a dish, they get a 5. The guys working there (they were all guys) gave exemplary service, were friendly and helpful and had very good knowledge of places to visit around the island as well! This was an unexpected bonus. So PLEASE DO stop by and have a meal here. If your experience was as ours you will not be disappointed (and they take cards, another plus)"
