"Strange reviews this pub is very busy and very popular, especially with walkers. The village is the kind of place overseas visitors imagine an English village to be, and it is a bit Disney, however it can be forgiven as the pub is fine. Best to park and walk along to river, across the railway to North Stoke, which has an ancient, cold church and air of medieval lonliness about it."

"As a family we attended the Holly Tree for a nice lunch on Friday the 9th of February. We were happy with the meal and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. However we did leave promptly as the chef was very unhappy with a member of staff which resulted in a full- blown argument with foul language which we found Very unprofessional. Especially as we had young children. This resulted in us feeling uncomfortable."

"The Black Rabbit. Excellent location. Good variety of beverages and ample room to dine. Price was fair. Staff attentive. Reserved a table to avoid any dissapointment (which, by 12:30, the pub was filling up fast, so I would highly recommend booking in advance). The service was warm, friendly and attentive. The food arrived quickly and was very tasty. The mushroom sausage roll was lovely as was the flatbread and hummus to start. For the main, the sea bass and mushroom risotto with tomato butter, was delicious. My girlfriend had the lamb medallions which was described as very tasty the gravy/jus a highlight . We both had pud, 1 apple tart and 1 chocolate brownie both delectable. Views of the arun and arundel Castle simply perfect! Recommend!"

"The Red Lion is a pub in the High Street, in the centre of Arundel. It is quite large and has a bar which plays background music and has a restaurant area. There is a good selection of beers, other drinks and a good food selection too. Daily food specials are available. There was a very relaxed environment at the Sunday lunch time that we visited. Many meal tables were booked, so I suggest booking. Friendly and helpful staff work at the Red Lion. The bar, restaurant and toilets are clean and live entertainment takes place in the bar area on some nights."

"I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Arundel castle and gardens. Its such a great place to visit. I loved the smell of the rose while walking around the castle and gardens. I would highly recommend going inside the castle, it is impressive with so much history. However I have to warn you there are lots of stairs to climb once inside the castle. Some stairs are very steep..Inside the castle there's a restaurant, I didn't have time to go to the restaurant so I can't comment on the food. I wanted to see as much as I could before the end of my visit. I will definitely return and spend more time in the gardens"
