"Having read the reviews I booked Boys Hall to celebrate a friend's birthday. It took 3 attempts to arrange the visit as it was always fully booked, which I hoped was a good sign. However, when we arrived we were the second table of 2...for that afternoon. There was a CD playing which helped give some background noise to an otherwise muted room. Marcus was very welcoming and attentive and seemed to listen to our comments about the food at the end of the afternoon. We were disappointed that the sandwiches were made of thick packaged white bread, although the fillings were fine; the scones did not taste home-made, surely a given for afternoon tea; there was no choice of teas or coffees and the cake was awful. There were 3 different flavours but they looked exactly the same sliced rectangles that tasted of chemicals. Come on guys! You have a lovely setting with beautiful gardens but you need to be at least as good as everyone else if you want to compete. When I go out I expect to have food that is better than I could make myself because I am not a trained cook. Unfortunately this experience did not live up to my expectations and I therefore cannot recommend it."

"We had been told that breakfast was good there so we tried it out if you haven't been you must go the breakfast was well cooked and more than enough the lady's taking orders and making drinks were friendly and helpful and the youngsters were...the same may will go again soon"

"I absolutely LOVE this quaint little Tearoom tucked away by the tranquility of The Church in Ashford Town away from all the hustle and bustle of the High Street with outside seating beside the Church. Makes me feel like Ive been transported back in time to a much slower and simpler way of life. Extremely relaxing place to get away from all the stresses of life. The Tearoom itself is so quirky with all its original features. A lovely historical building that you can picture how people used to live whilst you sip your traditionally served tea. Perfect place for total relaxtion. The Tearoom staff are so friendly and caring too. They pay real personal attention to their customers and the Tea and variety of food is delicious. Its a MUST visit for anyone that wants to relax and enjoy a warm welcome."

"We came across The Cosy Kettle a few weeks ago on a run, and saw the pancake breakfast (order 48 hours in advance) so booked for a birthday treat. It was outstandingly amazing, super yummy, really lovely environment, friendly people and great value. Definitely will be back as there are so many other things on the menu we want to try! Would completely recommend the pancakes too."

"We had afternoon tea in the Manor House today. It was one of the best I’ve had for ages. Fresh sandwiches, tasty sausage roll, perfect warm fresh scones (rare these days) and the small cakes were a delight, so full of flavour. It was. Travel Zoo voucher but we will be back again without a voucher, The room and ambience was lovely too with a polite waitress."
