"Stopped in Saturday night with two friends. We were able to park right out front and we were seated immediately. Salad bar was an absolute delight. Rare prime rib was incredible. Fried ice cream ended the evening and I was struggling to finish the generous portion!Atmosphere was on point. Brick inside with a tall wooden roof. The high ceilings make it feel very roomy. We had a really wonderful time and we'll be back for sure!"

"The location is perfectly central to everything you would want to experience while visiting Salem. The rooms may be on the smaller side but you would expect that from a historic hotel (plus we were there for the Salem experience so we didn't spend a ton of time in the hotel so in this case...size didn't matter). The entire hotel was decorated beautifully. What blew me away the most was their staff. Honestly if every hotel had a staff like the Hawthorne more people would travel. They offered exceptional service, we loved the diversity of the staff and you could really tell they truly cared about your time while in their care. Thank you for being an example of what is true hospitality. They really nailed it!!!!"

"Recently visited a high time in this facility and I was very impressed by every aspect of this event. I was familiar with this facility because someone in my family was a member of the adjacent marine, but I had never attended any event in this place. all staff were super friendly and helpful all night, especially when they served the fabulous appetizers. these were to die and they kept them over the cocktail hour available the room for the cocktail hour was very elegant and opened for a beautiful outdoor terrace overlooking the waterfront. what was really cool was that after the cocktail hour was completed, they opened a series of sliding doors that lead directly to the main ballroom where the reception was. this room was very large and even more elegant than the room for drinks and appetizers. again all waite staff were friendly and professional, and the main meal was excellent. the filet I had was perfectly cooked and you could cut it with a butter knife. I came very impressed by the whole road away and I don't see how someone wouldn't be completely happy to have their event here. highly recommended!"
