"Huge portions of big fresh chips. one small portion is enough for two. The chicken pieces are also very generous. Nice breadcrumbed bean burger. I recommend Chip n Whale if you're ever feeling peckish when you're on Soho Road."

"Simply the best fish and chips I had since the move to birmingham. so many around edgbaston harborne bearwood and quainton tried, but this is easily the best. small proportional amount of teig on the chips make for a crispy bite and the curry sauce has a little kick. will definitely be a more regular here"

"Such a shame. Can truly say this was a very disappointing meal. The staff were very nice and sympathic. The decor and ambience you cannot fault but the food was pretty awful. We had the fish board which was not great. Felt like it was something you could get from Iceland party platter. The coq au vin was strange. Very beefy in flavour. I did leave most of it...and the restaurant did not charge for it. We have been here before and it has always been great but I would not return."

"Penny's is a great little local chippy with very reasonable prices. They've recently started offering a kid's menu, which is a little cheaper with slightly smaller portions; I actually find their usual portions far too generous, so this is a nice option. One of their...specialities is battered or orange chips, which are available at all times. Their opening hours are very convenient, and the staff have always been very friendly and polite. Some items do come in polystyrene containers, which can make chips sweat. This is normally only the smaller portions. They do also use proper chip shop vinegar (non-brewed condiment) in all its addictiveness. A nice little local chippy."
