"We were driving to Bonavista and stopped at the Bonavista Social Club only to find it only open Wed. to Sun. off-season. We ventured on and spotted Susie's. What fun we had in this tiny restaurant at the side of the road. Food was good-great clam chowder full of clams, good portion of pan fried cod and delicious fish cakes. The ladies serving were chatty with great senses of humour-it was like eating at an aunts home."

"We loved this cafe. Arrived in Bonavista to stay for a couple of nights and knew very little about the area. Stumbled on this cafe and was very surprised by the meals and food they produced. We had the homemade fish cakes, which had beans, chow chow and a roll. We loved it and I found it one of the tastiest meals I have had since arriving on the island (after a week of travelling). Staff very friendly and was impressed by the service."

"We stayed one night here. It’s a short drive outside of Bonavista so we knew the rates would be a bit lower. Reception was super friendlyas I had grown accustomed to in the east coast. The hotel itself is a bit dated but didn’t deter from its charm. Our room was clean and had a modern bathroom (though a bit tight! It was quiet, clean and comfortable. There is a restaurant on the premise but we didn’t get a chance to eat there (had to eat at Mary Brown’s since we were in its birth place! The hotel is quiet, clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. I’d stay here again!"
