"Treated the family for lunch for vaters day and had an amazing meal. the flower cheese was amazing, veg and meat perfectly cooked, and the yorkshire puddings were bigger than our youngest head! after numerous visits we finally managed to pudding, but was too full for 1 everyone so divided and happy that we did as the portions are huge. the children shared the warm fudge cake and ice, while the adults shared a wad with ice, banana and caramel/toffee sauce. yummy!"

"We visited the Railway this weekend, which we found on Google when asked for 'carveries near me ' we were in the area with some friends. The landlady said she could get us in when I phoned and enquired, and when we arrived a while before our booking time to have a drink, they got our table ready and we were all done with our meal before time. Impressed!! It was busy but didn 't affect the service or standard of food. Meat was perfect and the range of veg was staggering!! Nine different types. We scoffed the lot and were stuffed. It really was yummy. Wouldn definitely recommend to anyone in the area. Was a lovely dinner!! Thanks!!"

"Excellent lunch time eating reasonable trips on normal plates in a wonderful friendly atmosphere. midday are special good value for money. no unusual tablecloths or china, no loud music and to earthly friendly staff. never tried the evenings so can not comment. easy to park."

"After visiting yesterday lunchtine with my Wife and Daughter , I can honestly say we won't be going back, once in the door you have to wait to be seated which didn't take long after the Lady finished chatting with the chef, we was taken outside where as they wasn't busy able to pick a table of our choice. After 25 minutes of waiting to be served went to the bar and asked are we meant to order from the bar as its been 25 minutes and nobody has taken our drink or food order. The 2 girls behind the bar didn't look surprised at all and looked like this is the norm.... Finally they came to take the order.. the 2 premium lagers were sold out , the popping candy for my daughter mocktail was sold out, this I mid week surely the manager can plan better than this?? The fastest thing was the the card machine to be rammed under your nose to pay, you don't get told or showed how much it is just thurusted at you with the contact less end . My biggest question is why when you invest money in the building (which does look good can you not spend a little time in training your staff!! And if anything from yesterday was to go by may be an idea to replace the Manager with someone who is experienced as stock issues and staffing issues and staff training fall firmly at there feet. No one else to blame other than the Manager... This could be a decent place with the right staff.. suggest this Is looked at before it's too late"
