"We cooked our own steak on the hot stones. Couldn’t fault the food at all. Starter of garlic mushrooms was delicious and the accompanying salad was very fresh. Great staff and fantastic food. Would highly recommend."

"This is what pubs are all about. Excellent beer, excellent atmosphere, a wonderful smoking veranda- with heating! This is a proper, old fashioned, drinking pub; no restaurant theme here, just good ale, crisps, cobs and soup, the soup, by the way is soup-erb (sorry Feeble...puns aside but the soup here really is something special. Thick, filling, and served with generous slices of farmhouse loaf and butter. Utterly gorgeous. It's no surprise that when the Crown in Alvechurch closed for refurbishment that most of it's drinkers chose to drink here, rather than The Weighbridge A bit off the beaten track but The Cross' really is a hidden gem, a fantastic pub, couldn't recommend it highly enough."

"What a find! An excellent pub with excellent food and very friendly and attentive staff. Dog friendly even though we were a bit muddy from the adjacent canal towpath. They even brought a bowl of water for the dog. Pizzas are a big thing here but they also provide sandwiches and lighter bites. It was busy for a Wednesday lunchtime so that tells its own story. Highly recommended and I wound definitely go again. Price per person: £10–20"

"Honestly have nothing but praise for this pub. We didn't have a booking, but were able to sit and order food in the bar. We ordered two roast dinners which were incredible quality and served promptly. Service was fantastic nothing was too much trouble. Very, very impressed and will be going back very soon!!"
