"Very nice pizza with very low oil in baked base. The bases are handmade on-site and you can taste it. I would have liked more tomato sauce on the pizzas we got though."

"We have been here for drinks & nibblies - it was quiet so you would think the staff would be grateful for the patronage - the bar staff lovely - the management anti-social, rude, & hostile, made us feel very unwelcome . The food was tasteless & expensive - too many great food & wine bars around to waste time with this one. Parkdale deserves better than this 2 bob snob run disaster."

"Went to the Flight Deck on Saturday for a late lunch. We were asked to take a seat from a man behind the bar and he would be with us in a minute, so we sat at the windows watching the planes. There was one other table of 5 people there so it was far from busy. We waited for 15 min for the man behind the bar or one of the other staff members to bring us a menu or even come over to our table, they didn't. I hope the food is worth the wait if you want to wait that long. We got up and left. Really disappointed as it "was" a great place to sit and watch the planes while having a nice meal or a drink when the previous owners were there."

"I 've known these boys (Terry, Arthur, Steve) since back in the day, when they ran the bestest fush n chups shop in ye olde Aspendale town. And now they run the bestest chicken bar in ye olde Mentone town. ^ ^ Good food at good prices go check 'em out. I particularly enjoy their salads range, I drop by most days to get my green fix."

"Love this TOP value shack in the middle of Moorabbins Industrial heart. DJ 's would definitely win the Moorabbin burger war if the food was the sole item being judged. <br/ <br/ It 's true: the burgers are ginormous. My personal fave is the 'Double Dodge ' a egg-bacon-meat-repeat feast big enough for a small family $20 at time of writing, including Fries and a small swimming pool of ketchup. See pic) . It took me two attempts to put this sucker away solo. Everything about this burger was spot on. The accompanying fries were perfect, the beer cold and, well, beery. I know that large meals do not appeal to everyone, but if you take a moment to appreciate the care and effort that 'DJ ' has put into creating this concoctions, including the handmade patties, you 'll realise that it 's not Quantity Vs Quality here. The two walk hand in greasy hand. <br/ <br/ The shops fitout is a little less polished than 'Fat Bob 's down the road, and best 'go before you go ' if you know what I mean You dont? Well, the outside toilets are hysterically bad). The decor at DJ 's is one mans ' love letter to his childhood, and the owners own memorabilia collection Model cars, licence plates, old tyres) makes up the bulk of the stuff crammed into the diner. He 's not trying to impress anyone, just to share some of his passions with those lucky enough to walk through the door. If it 's Thursday, this includes live music, although I haven 't been able to make this event yet.<br/ <br/ The staff have been very attentive on our couple of visits, although this may be partially due to the low turnout on a Sunday evening. We bring our young son, and he always walks away with a couple of free matchbox cars from the owners personal stash. <br/ <br/ So c 'mon eastern suburb dwellers. Help this place take flight and go grab a stonkingly huge burger. I 'm starting to get cravings just driving past this place now. <br/ <br/ PS To the 'Mack Truck ' burger, I 'm taking you DOWN next time!"

"From the almost hidden alley-way, leading down into the belly of an industrial quarter, the over the top, eclectic neon lighting, signs, posters and paraphernalia, the super friendly bar and table service, to the very, very tasty food, this place is a must visit. It is a hidden gem that, by the time I’d left my very early meal, was starting to attract diners. I ordered the Spartan Burger and a side of fries. The fries were salty, crisp and with a soft inner. Excellent chips. The burger, was large, perfectly layered with very fresh ingredients and the sauces were excellent. What was impressive with the burger was the way each element was distinguishable, and had its own crunch of freshness. That’s impressive. Also impressive was the service. The ladies and gents were very friendly and helpful. I observed a young lady helping a Dad and his two young sons run through the menu upon their arrival. She not only addressed the Dad, but gave equal, if not more time talking directing to the boys, explaining the menu to the little ones. That is first class service. I’ll be back to Fat Bob’s on more occasions than just another visit."
