"I ordered a cheezo strawberry yogurt, while the strawberry jam at the bottom has gone off, the cheezo wasn't fresh at all. Can't believe it charges 10 bucks with this quality. It's super hot like a sauna in the shop. Not recommended."

"My boyfriend and I first ate here two years ago. It was amazing; great value, massive portions, and an overall good taste. When we finally got the chance to eat here again (babysitting for someone who lived just around the corner) we were severely disappointed.We ordered take out and it came up to fifty dollars. I'm not sure if management had changed in the past two years, the cooks had changed a lot, or the recipes (maybe a mixture of both), but the only impressive thing was the portion sizes anymore.I ordered combo plate 1. The first time we ate there I didn't like the egg roll either but that was my personal experience, as the inside is something like a paste. My boyfriend who enjoyed it before, however, said that it did indeed taste off. My sweet and sour chicken had a soggy exterior and a tasteless interior. The chicken fried rice I received was immensely dry and lacking in flavor. On the other hand, my boyfriend's chicken fried rice (he ordered combo plate fifteen) was soggy, and the general gao chicken was burnt. We also ordered fried won tons which tasted fine (but hey, if you mess that up, I'm not sure how you'd still be in business anyway).Look for other Chinese restaurants in the city, they're a dime a dozen."

"Oh the Henry House so much love for everything they do. Our last visit was spent at their christmas high tea for our anniversary. They went above and beyond. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, the food to die for, and the customer service always leaves you feeling like you’re a part of the family. We will return time and time again."

"Came here during happy hour (4 6pm) for the $1.50 oysters very fresh and satisfying. Ordered a couple other dishes to try and we discovered that the fish chips here are to die for! One big piece of fresh fish in thin panko crust yummy. We didn’t have enough and ordered more. I’m not a big fan of thick greasy batter so I really enjoyed their version. The octopus salad, on the other hand, was a little fishy for me."

"Love it here, when ever I go to Halifax I have to stop for my pound of muscles and my 2 piece fish and chips. Tried the salmon before and it's unreal. One of my Favorite spots in Halifax!!"

"Today I went to Sam’s and ordered scallops. The meal arrived and the scallops were sitting on a piece of bread where the top was soaked in fat from the scallops. When I pierced the scallop with my fork, the fat was oozing from the side.I immediately called the waitress over and she immediately told me to not return to the restaurant because she remembered that last Fall I complained to her that the batter was undercooked on the inside of my fish. Sam’s always had good food before Covid, however the quality is not the same. As for the staff, I can only speak for the person who has served me on both occasions that I had a problem. Perhaps someone should teach her to be less rude in dealing with customers who genuinely have a problem with their food."

"The fish and chips, as advertised, were generously proportioned and tasty. While my daughter wasn't sure about the hot beef sandwich, I was happy to finish it for her! It did lack seasoning, but like I told her, that's why there are salt and pepper shakers at the table! Kids, am I right?!"
