"We ended up at this restaurant because it was the only one we could get a seat at on the patio. The other restaurants we tried in the area had hour to hour and a half waiting lists. It is right on the board walk on the waterfront. A very nice place to have a drink and watch the world walk by.The menu was largely Japanese but also curries and grilled items like rack of lamb. We tried to order the Teppanyaki , but the chef wouldn't do it outside on the patio when it was so busy. The next item I tried to order had already run out for the evening. I ended up ordering the Mediterranean chicken with Naan bread. It was okay. It tasted a bit like pizza toppings without the pizza crust. The service was just okay. The patio seemed to close early for such a busy night. Our waitress eluded to the fact that they were running low on to many items? I find that a little hard to believe for such a prominent location. There was a very angry man who tried to be seated about 9pm and he didn't want to believe that the patio was closing.I didn't realize it at the time, but the restaurant uses the public washroom as it's facilities. I wondered because it seemed a little dirty. Had it been a really busy part of the day, there may have been a lineup."

"I've been going to the Steak Stein since the mid when you could afford to take your entire family but the those days have long since passed! Better I have been to the Stein three times, The last two visits I found...the customer service to be slow once they gave your your food they disappeared? Over all I found the steaks to be tough with a lot of gristle so much I need another plate to put it on. The last visit was the best because the food was served hot with minimal wait times. The two of us ordered steaks, One small piece of salmon and scallops, two baked potatoes and a very small order of mushroom Onions. This came to nearly With deserts the two meals would have been over Not a very good value for what we ordered!! Note: The side order of Mushroom Onions are smaller, They use to serve whole button mushrooms in larger bowl but now you only receive a few chopped up mushrooms in small for some reason only half the onions in the bowl where cooked? See you next year Steak Stein your prices are to rich for my family!!!"

"The service was great. The salad was the best. The chowder was anti climatic and I could not finish it. In a area with great chowders this one was one not to try. The fish was dry, tough and tasteless. The was one other couple...there on a Friday night, that by itself should have been a warning to us."

"Attended a birthday party at Steak & Stein for a family member with approximately 18 people. They set up a "U" shaped table which was great to talk with everyone. The service was excellent, we had a young man who was very attentive and friendly. Had a wonderful time and would consider going here again for a birthday meal."

"I went to Barrington Steakhouse for dinner last week and it was AMAZING! Excellent, very attentive service and a wonderful meal. The live entertainment in the bar is a really nice touch. I stayed for an extra drink just to enjoy the music and the bar atmosphere! Highly recommend Barrington for a nice evening out in the city."
