"This is one of my favorite places for a meal or a few drinks when I visit hard pool. on the one hand there is a small esta area and on the other hand a cozy bar/lounge. eating is always good value for money, tasty and well presented and the staff is friendly and helpful. there is a small parking opposite."

"We visited today 6th November for lunch, from walking in to the pub until leaving everything about it was fantastic,the pub itself is absolutely immaculate and beautifully decorated with a relaxing homely feeling and the extensive menu is superb,we went for the 3 course lunchtime special an absolute bargain at under £12 per head, the portions are huge and the food both beautifully cooked and presented. The landlady and her staff are lovely and friendly and we felt nothing was to much trouble. We will most certainly be returning a great deal in the future. If you're looking for great food and wonderful surroundings then this is the place to be."

"Only here beautiful helpful staff; very friendly too. I even got a card at 22 o'clock. very attentive : as a highly rated top valuer on many shopping platforms, including amazon, I can honestly say that the owton lodge is absolutely beautiful. never in my 22 years I had a hot BLUE steak; it is usually cold on the inside (as it is practically raw. compliments to the cook and to the staff with their beautiful customer service."

"This place has gone down hill. I visited for Sunday lunch recently, They are very gready with the meat portions they have took off the Brocoli Cauliflower in replace for Green beans, I asked for beef and turkey and i was told that coz there aint a lot of Turkey left i have to pick another meat case some comes in and whats turkey (Wow) it is uncomfortable I was getting watched putting the food on my plate. The veg is very bland and dry, the mushy peas are really watery with no taste. The guy serving the meat is quite rude and abrupt and is watching everything. I won`t be back and judging by the empty room i`m not the only one with a bad experience as you could not get a table not long ago."

"Really enjoyed the fish and chips with mushy peas everything was very tasty, perfectly cooked and the portion size was good. It was a lot better than the same dish from the pub round the corner that I had the misfortune to sample a few weeks ago (the one where the US President lives). The atmosphere was pleasant, the staff were polite and we didn't have to wait long for our order to be taken and then for our food to arrive. I will definitely be returning."

"Excellent service and staff were very welcoming to my family. The food was spot on we had a sharing platter and it was lovely a bit of everything. Child friendly and a warm atmosphere. We will definitely be returning soon!! The manager even came over to check everything was good!"
