"We went there for their crayfish offer of 15.99 for 3 pounds and we were NOT disappointed. The crayfish was amazing and fresh. The spices were amazing. We ordered also a stuffed Grouper and it was amazing, so tender and yummy. The crab legs were fantastic, extremely fresh and amazing with the butter sauce. Their boiled shrimp was great too specially when you dip it in that butter. Our server was very tentative and sweet. Smiling all the time and gave us everything we need and more. Greatly recommend."

"My first visit there, but I had read the reviews and was a little sceptical. Yes, the decor was low budget plastic and the disposable plates were still the usual for Covid, but the food was very good. No better fried shrimp and oysters. Everything was cooked to order and hot from the fryer. I think some previous reviewers were expecting Captain D's prices for very good seafood. I will definitely be going back when I want good seafood."

"Ordered catfish and shrimp...no seasoning. I asked the waiter if ANY season was on the breaded fish and shrimp. I was told that's what the tartar sauce and cocktail sauce is for...no thank you. I will not be returning."

"The food was very good and service excellent but I would consider it as a splurge because it was a little pricey. I had six grilled blackened shrimp with two sides and tea and it was around $24 with tip. They had some beautiful desserts in a case as we entered."

"This Captain D?s is located on the Montgomery Hwy in Vestavia. The food is very reasonably priced; they give Senior Discounts, have delicious combos for $4.99 and as a VIP member, you can earn Reward Points with each visit. When the points add up, you receive a free dessert or other perk for being a VIP member. I just got home from another awesome visit to Captain D?s! Rodrick waited on me in the drive-through and he was so pleasant, knowledgeable, and accommodating that I told him he needed a raise. He explained to me that the VIP membership now was by email rewards. I told him I had received an email reward and was there to get my dessert with my meal. He offered me a drink while I waited. I told him that I would definitely be back to see him!"
