"My wife and I had great hopes for this restaurant as it converted from a Buddy 's Italian cuisine to seafood. We enjoy great seafood. Having lived in southeast Alaska for many years, we like to think that we know a bit about seafood salmon, halibut, cod, crab, etc and how to prepare seafood, and which restaurants serve the best seafood. Unfortunately, the Captain 's Cove cooks (I wouldn 't use the term chefs) don 't have experience with preparing seafood. I cannot recommend Captain 's Cove. We will never return to this restaurant. We both ordered fish and chips. This is cod fish deep fat fried together with potato fries or potato chips. Now cod, if prepared properly, is a fair substitute for fried halibut. What we received after a considerable wait was soggy, watery, and very brown from being fried in overly used, under temperature cooking oil. The fries were no better soggy and not very tasty. What we received was as if the cod was partially frozen and then placed in the cooking oil. Three things about deep fat frying 1) never attempt to fry wet, frozen, or partially frozen fish it turns out soggy. 2) Always make sure your cooking oil is hot. When you try to cook too much fish at a time, the oil gets cold. This makes the fish come out soggy. 3) There is an upper limit as to how many times the oil can be used to fry fish don 't over use the oil otherwise the fish turns out soggy. We also ordered an appetizer of crab cakes. They were not very tasty. The chef needs to eat crab cakes at Salty 's in south Seattle to learn what excellent crab cakes taste like. Want good fries? Try Five Guys Hamburgers and Fries . Here is how we would grade our dining experience at Captain 'd Cove relative to other restaurants in Idaho and elsewhere: Wait time: grade C Crab Cake Appetizer: grade D Fried Cod: grade F French Fries: grade D Tartar sauce (misspelled in the menu): grade B"

"This is the best Chinese buffet I have ever been to. Huge selection. They even have sushi and mongolian. The sushi is simple so don't expect a dragon roll or anything. To the woman who complained about the waiter...he told my wife she should drink water instead of the soda she was drinking with her pills. I think her had her best intentions in mind...if you have been anywhere else in the world and experienced other culture besides the Mormon culture you should get over it."

"The menu is overwhelming if you're new! My first visit was great though! We sat on the Hibachi side, our Chef was a hoot, our waitress was very sweet, and our grub was amazing! The yum-yum sauce is worth putting on EVERYTHING. The drinks were great, and the food was cooked to perfection. The Hibachi side wasn't extremely busy when we went which was nice. And made it so we sat right down. I'd recommend this place to others for sure!"
