"Not a great experience. A beef wellington was presented as a lamb dish, overall choice was limited for GF. The service was very poor, a bottle of wine was corked (it was replaced however) and despite the owner telling my mother on her 81st birthday that she could have a Creme Brûlée desert, staff had no idea and told her she couldn’t. Then at the end, I requested some water and the waitress, sometime later, brought a bottle to the table behind us and not to us. The food itself was OK but really not deserving of the price tag. A Gordon Ramsey approach tonight would have been brutal."

"The service was excruciatingly slow and the food was sub par as well as positions being small. However what I got did task good other than the raw duck egg. I got the Parmesan Gnocci (overpriced) However despite the slow service the staff seemed very nice which I must commend. And no it wasn’t particularly busy either."

"What a lovely restaurant. We have often admired it's setting but this time I booked for a birthday meal. We weren't disappointed. The ambience is lovely and the staff friendly and not over attentive. The highlight however had to be the food excellent. There were so many delicious sounding things on the menu it was hard to choose but what we had was presented beautifully, cooked to perfection and tasted fantastic. Cannot say enough good things about this place if you have the chance you must go!"

"Place was near empty and that should've been a sign. Sign on front door requesting job applications for chef. When ordering food, the waitress didn't even look at me and wasn't even bothered. Told the food would be an hour (the place had 3 families inside with roughly 40 tables free). Food was warm at best and wasn't great. Would not recommend. Go somewhere else. They are lucky they get 1 star."

"Great value for money, with excellent food, had the Burger combo, which came with double cheese burger, chips, steak, mais on cob and chicken wing, had special for £8 on Saturday. I paid the double price for a burger who was not as delicious as this. well made and worth the 5 stars"

"Thought we would pop up to our local for lunch on a Friday. We have not been for a little while, we ordered soup followed by one meal of lasagne and The other sausages and bubble and squeak. So disappointed,soup was not bad but not very hot. When the main courses came , the lasagne was a load of stodge hardly any meat and sauce and what there was was absolutely tasteless. The sausages were done to death and I have never seen bubble and squeak look like that!! Complained when we paid but was not offered any discount. Was told that they had a new chef on trial!! Well they are rubbish. The galling thing also was because we went on a Friday our meal cost double what it would have cost on the Thursday!!!! We will not be going back again, have always tried to support our local but have now given up."
