"Tested ribs, burned ends and brisket while we're here. This place was chosen for the family as the best BBQ in KC. Meat was tasteful and delicate, but not overdue. Excellent sauce, recommend mixing them both. Don't miss the beans. Another regularly recommended and they were also excellent!"

"I know BBQ in KC is a tough business. Smokin' Guns just north of the river gives it a good go. The place was moderately busy, and we ordered a couple of 2 meat sandwiches and told the waitress to pick her favorite meats and sides. We ordered some deviled eggs to start just because . . well, who puts deviled eggs on their menu if they're not special? Sorry, they weren't. Run of the mill deviled eggs sprinkled and rolled in a bit of bbq rub. Not bad, but they could do so much better with those. For our meal, we were brought brisket and pulled pork sandwiches along with potatoes and beans. The sides were outstanding. Great beans! The sandwiches were piled high and were good, but a bit dry especially the brisket, and they chose a standard hamburger bun which doesn't do much to set them apart. Both meats were very well cooked with a nice smoky flavor. Their sauce was a little sweet for my taste, but was good nonetheless. They chose a pickle spear instead of slices for the garnish which makes it hard to add pickle to your sandwich! All in all, the meal was good, and the staff was prompt and courteous. Could be great with a little TLC, but certainly worth a try."

"I have extremely high expectations for BBQ, and that 's intensified when I am in Kansas City.Chef J passed the would I eat here again? test for me.This is the BEST brisket I 've found outside of Texas.The pork belly burnt ends were also really good.The ribs are well cooked, but are also central TX style with lots of black pepper, which I don 't love. We scraped the pepper off.The baked beans tasted like they were out of a can, but the other sides were okay. I didn 't see tea (sweet or unsweet) which was odd. I always drink tea with BBQ.As some of the reviews said, the ordering system is kinda weird. The person taking your order is also prepping all of the meat for each order. So it 's pretty time consuming and makes the line move pretty slow. They need a different system.The location is perfect and it just feels like what a KC BBQ joint should look and feel like."
