"We were so excited to find this unique spot. Love the John Hughes/80s theme! Our server Emily was very nice, and gave some good suggestions. I ordered a breakfast sandwich with sausage patty on a croissant, and a side of hash browns. It was all so delicious! I had a tasty cappuccino too. My sister had the Farmer Ted, and a side of French toast. It seemed like no time passed between ordering and food arriving at the table. We looked for Waldo while we waited. Photos were taken part way through eating; we were so ready to dig in!"

"My husband and I were traveling back to Sioux Falls, SD from Chicago and decided to stop in La Crosse for a bite to eat. He looked up places to eat and found the absolute treasure that is Howie’s. The environment was very fun and welcoming, with college students, families, and older couples all represented. The restaurant was also very clean and had a variety of seating options, including a bar, high and low tops, and a balcony. The staff were very helpful, friendly, and attentive during our visit. But the real reason for this 5 star review: the food. We decided to split an order of the Hometown Hot Wings and each got a burger. The wings came out first and were honestly the best wings I’ve ever had. They were spicy but in a way that made the flavor even better. They were so fresh and cooked to perfection. The burgers were also incredible. Every bite was a delight. They were unique and fun and yet were exactly what I wanted from a local restaurant. They also served Hamm’s beer, which is a real favorite and automatically made me love Howie’s a little bit more."
