"If you love visiting historical pubs this is one to visit!! I have never visited a place where I have talked about it over and over again to family friends about it’s history and it’s paranormal activity! The barmaid was lovely and welcoming and...showed myself and partner around areas of the pub and told us about the pub. Landlord was fantastic to tell us all interesting activity he has experienced and really got our attention, we are very grateful for the experience they gave us. Pub itself is a typical English pub with history! Don’t expect a gastro pub as it has its qwerks to keep the history alive!! drinks were lovely with plenty of choice! We will definitely be visiting again!! THANK YOU team at Bate hall Macclesfield !!"

"What a fabulous welcome, turned up after food finished about 8:40pm. Asked about food and staff offered some fries to put us on, these came along with a complimentary side dish from the tapas menu(taster). It was all so nice we decided to call in the following day for lunch after a lovely walk to White Nancy. Spanish styles tapas and the most fabulous hot beef and onion chiabatta. Two outdoor areas at the front and rear of the property(7 tables at the front) large rear seating area looks over the Cheshire plains. Will be revisiting as this is ideal for walks/cycling into Peak District"
