"What was once a terrific example of fine German culinary delight has now slipped into the world of culinary oblivion. Advertised Wiener Schnitzel made with pork in an iconic authentic German restaurant? You gotta be kidding me. Duck that was so over cooked and dried out that it was almost inedible. Service though pleasant, (barely) was basically indifferent. We have been going to Ratzsch 's since the 1950 's. It is now unfortunately a has been . If Karl Jr. who ran it for years experienced it today, he would roll over in his grave. The atmosphere is still outstanding and reminiscent of a wonderful era. Unfortunately, the rest (food quality, preparation, service) doesn 't match up. Oh, did I mention price? Price value relationship compared to other fine Milwaukee restaurants is definitely on the high side. Poor value. We will focus on some of the other German restaurants in the area in the future."
