"Gold. I started coming here whilst working locally and found especially the food made to order quite often at, ahem, short notice outstanding. Although sadly, her own diet is restricted to vegetable matter, Wendy can knock out a superb Hungarian Roolasch , a staunch curry or barbie salads and dips whatever on request and surprisingly economically. Like anything worthwhile in mysterious Mt Barker, the town that Town Planning forgot this place is a bit hidden away behind a fodder store but the coffee, intelligent and friendly atmosphere and are draw cards that will see me spending 40 minutes on the freeway so long as I ring ahead to organise a take away meal for the family to bring home. Viva!"

"This is a delightful quirky cafe that does not only vegan and vegetarian, but general foods too. The food is amazing and the owner/cook delight. Delicious and tempting healthy foods and salads all home made, plus a wonderful array of home cooked cakes. Great selection of teas and good coffee too. Also great value for money. "These volunteers are great and hard working and are very knowledgeable full of history, and these beautiful trains have been beautifully restored especially the steamranger, the woodwork inside the carriages is superb. My trip from mt Barker to Victor harbour was fantastic."
