"A wonderful place to visit. the staff was very friendly, attentive and knew the menu and could explain, advise and describe. on the way to our garden table we were immediately offered water (a warm day) and a bowl of water for our little dog. nothing was too much annoyed. eating was delicious and well prepared and far over a 'normal' pub standard. highly recommended."

"Nice pub very convenient for amberley train station. 3 real ales available. we didn't try to eat. on Sunday afternoon there was a live music duo during our visit. the pub has a beer garden for the warmer months."

"We had our wedding here on the 17th of August. The whole experience was absolutely outstanding! For us this will be our benchmark for service and room quality. The food was some of the most beautiful and delicious ever. The staff remained efficient, professional friendly throughout even though they could do with more. "Strange reviews this pub is very busy and very popular, especially with walkers. The village is the kind of place overseas visitors imagine an English village to be, and it is a bit Disney, however it can be forgiven as the pub is fine. Best to park and walk along to river, across the railway to North Stoke, which has an ancient, cold church and air of medieval lonliness about it."
