"We live in Beaumont-du-Perigord and visited the restaurant for dinner. we had a warm welcome and friendly service during our visit. eating was great and the salade de magret de canard was especially good. we talked to the owner who was charming and we would definitely recommend this restaurant."

"Reservation by telephone for 9:30 p.m. for 6 people on a Saturday evening. Reservations made with name, first name etc. We are told that we will be in the Tapas area but that we will be able to take the restaurant menu without problem. Arriving at 9:30 p.m. sharp, we were told that there were no reservations made for that name and that everything was full... No solution was offered, nor were excuses! We are left stranded in front of the bar, making it clear that we must look for another establishment to eat... What a shame to be disappointed by such an establishment which surely deserves much better!"

"This restaurant was highly thought of by some of our friends so we eagerly travelled here one evening with 2 of them for a 70’s retro night. You know the sort of thing I mean, prawn cocktail, stroganoff followed by black forest gateau! First off I glad that they were driving as it is a little tricky to find and also because as the restaurant is effectively somebodies house, parking isn’t the most expansive and my tip would be to make sure that you either reverse into your chosen parking space or make sure you are facing the exit. Those minor gripes aside it was hard to fault anything else. We were greeted outside by the waiters in ‘period costume’ and shown to our table. In the background there was a lively soundtrack of relevant music, the kind that gets your toes tapping and the brain actively searching the deepest recesses of one’s brain for the name of the group/song to put on the tip of your tongue. Once all the guests had assembled (over two dozen) it was explained that there would be a quiz running for the evening. Twenty music related questions, twenty TV related pictures and twenty general questions to test one’s knowledge of the decade in question.The atmosphere throughout was light hearted, the waiters pretty amusing and the food was reminiscent of evenings gone by in a ‘Berni Inn’ or some such. Not from the way it was cooked I hasten to add, as that was first rate, but merely from the content. The prawn cocktail was pleasant but made you wonder why you thought that this was the height of sophistication ‘back in the day’. Stroganoff – which I like to this day - was offered in mushroom or beef varieties to cater for the vegetarians in the room and the gateau very moist and the black cherries just melted in the mouth.The alcoholic accompaniment was superb, but you might expect it to be when you are asked to supply your own for the evening! We had thought about trying to source some Babycham or Blue Nun in keeping with the theme but in the end went for a more modern feel and took some Kriter Rose which slid down very well. Coffee ended the trip in the time machine and that was served to an accompaniment of the quiz scores. As it happened our table won but that isn’t the reason we are going back, although the next trip will not be back in time."
