"I had heard many good things about this restaurant of friends and ta reviews, so my expectations were high when I arrived. the business is just outside of peterborough and just a little challenging to find for someone who doesn't know the opposite. (It didn't help my gps to find the business name or address. I found it and entered a relatiw small dining room, which is about 35 seats. it was very clean and looks like it had been recently rebuilt. the service was excellent from the time I arrived when I left. I was invited to sit down. a menu was in my hands from a very friendly server in 30 seconds! it did not take long to order for me and my meal was delivered within 15min. (a part of the meal came almost 10min later when I ordered something else while I wait. there were two server and they were very attentive without disturbing me. I never had to ask for a beverage refill; they were there to take care of themselves before I could think about it! the food was 5 stars. I had the lemon chicken with a sweet, fried rice and an egg roll. I also ordered a black spring roll. the rice was excellent, the sweet perfect was not cooked over or under and not watery or dry. they were crispy and with great taste. I can see that flavors were used to improve the taste of the sweet, but it was not overdue. the chicken was well prepared and cooked like the egg and the early rolls. price is very reasonable. my combo plate was $10.99, $2.49 for the spring roll and with tax just over $14, an EXCELLENT value for this quality of eating and service. I'll visit here again. my high expectations were easily met!"

"Note to TripAdvisor editors and readers: when searching for Ethiopian restaurants in Ottawa at Trip Advisor, there are 3 results. Of these, two restaurants (African Palace @ 376 Rideau St., and East Africa @ 363 Rideau St.) are probably the same restaurant, since they have the exact SAME phone number.The restaurant at which we ate today, and to which this review addresses, is located at 376 Rideau St., and it is called East Africa Restaurant (http://www.ethiopianrestaurantottawa.com/).Review:We ate at many Ethiopian restaurants around the world, and love Ethiopian food. This restaurant, by all accounts, was one of the worst Ethiopians we've ever experienced, and we will never go back there. Here are some "highlights" of our dinner today.Service: it took 45 minutes from the moment we ordered and until we got the food. From looking around at the few (very few) tables that were occupied, it was the same with them as well. To say that the service is slow and bad is an understatement. I would say the only guy servicing in the restaurant was nice, but that's it.Food: we were two people (me and my spouse), and since we were hungry, we decided to order 3 dishes/servings, that the guy (and menu) both claimed should be sufficient for 3 people. We estimated there will be some left (as is our experience in other places, when we order 3 dishes), so we'll take some back to the hotel. What we received was something that in other Ethiopian restaurants (Boston, Washington and other places) is barely considered 2 dishes. We finished it all, and still were a bit hungry.Quality: Ingera, the Ethiopian bread, is usually made of high quality Teff flour (this is the original Ethiopian flour). In some restaurants they serve several Teff ingeras and several made of Gebs, which is cheap, white flour. Here, we only got Gebs ingera, which we never before got, anywhere in the world; and in addition, the food was reasonable, but nothing beyond that.Overall, we paid $40 (before service) for dinner for two people (no drinks whatsoever), in which we got mediocre-minus food, and a bad and slow service."
