"With small child to the fleshy lunch. well furnished for families with a good children's menu and a few options for them on the carvery also. meat was excellent and so were most sweet, apart from the cauliflower cheese that was under sauce and covered in paprika. they were clearly among the employees, but still a great service, including clearing table and pudding order to save a trip into the bar."

"Not easy to find a dog-friendly place to eat nice food in this opposite, but this pub tick both boxes. we wanted to take our sweetheart with us for Sunday dinner, but fought to find suitable everywhere. the meat here offers a delicious selection of roast meat, including lamb. and there is an excellent and varied selection of vegetables, all well cooked. it's a busy pub on the outskirts of town, so it's a bit loud. but families are welcome and employees are happy and helpful. we enjoyed our lunch and doggo! the prices are reasonable. generous. What is that?"

"Had sunday lunch here, 4 choices, lamb, beef, turkey or pork, what more do you need. Excellent meals and a great price! We were a party of 4 and each chose a different meal, clean plates all round. It is a pub, no frills, but very friendly locals and attentive staff. Check it out before they realise how good they are and start charging accordingly."

"We came here by chance on a dreary but fairly mild day. The pub looked good enough from the road but the car park is very small and there is an overflow car park with frightening looking steps. The entrance we found was around the back and did not look very welcoming. There was a fire in the bar but it was not lit. It was a dull January day and a fire was essential. Not much of a welcome there. The wine was ok and a good price. That is all I can say about this place. I shall not be rushing back because I never return to places with an unlit fire in the the middle of winter."
