"With a local open microphone session, the pub itself is in a great location with views of the water and on a warm summer evening is quite idyllic. beautiful pub with a large garden with many tables to sit, as well as a series of reused garden houses with tables, in which offer a little more private. I did not eat there personally, but eating comes out to be served, and the number of people eating would support the premise that it is really very good, all in a very pleasant experience."

"Prettiest, quiet pub in Rochester. Not too close to the hubbub of the High Street, and the beer is good. If you're eating go for the excellent home made lasagne."

"This was our first trip to Rochester, we were singing at the cathedral and were given time off for lunch. Walking down the High St we found The Eagle Tavern and what a treat it was: proper locals' pub with great staff, excellent beer and really good food cooked from locally sourced ingredients by a chef who takes great pride in his work, especially the Yorkshire puddings. Both our Sunday roasts were huge and of good quality, especially for the price! Special thanks to the bar staff who ran after me with my phone as we walked back up the road and the chef who came out in person to have a chat. Also had a great natter to some of the locals. It's a great pub you've got their Folk! See you next time we're iver!"

"It is a nice place to visit. we had drinks and eating what was okay. I ordered fish and chips and it looked all nice, but the fish was not good and it was too oily. we enjoyed our time here anyway. beautiful garden and personal."

"We have been here before and enjoyed it but today they were below par. After being forgotten about for minutes we ordered BBQ Ribs and BBQ chicken. We then waited for another minutes for our food to arrive. The reason being that the...chicken was cooked from fresh. The chicken could have done with minutes less cooking as it was bland and rubbery. The coleslaw was pretty insipid although the chips were good. The Ribs apparently were nice hence the poor rating rather than terrible. Whilst we have enjoyed food here before on this showing will have to think twice about coming again"

"Me and my friends meet up here every few weeks or so, great value for money on the food, always have a deal on, so if you're on a budget it's a great place to eat. Food was good, I had the pie it was massive and very tasty, also friends had fish and chips and scampi and chips, and all the plates were cleared so I'm guessing they all enjoyed their meals as well. Staff were very friendly, took the time to chat with us. All in all nothing bad to say, give it a try...."
