"Five stars for the literally dozens of orders of the freshest, most pristine seafood available that I've received over the years. Universal is wholesale, primarily selling to high end restaurants and retailers, but also to the public for 50 75% of what you'd pay at Santa Monica Seafood (one of their customers, I believe. The prices vary according to supply so you might actually pay less this time than you did the last for that center cut, skin off, bloodline out swordfish yes, they will package it exactly as you request. You must order the morning in advance of the day you want it and because it is not a retail outlet, they won't sell a half pound of this and a half pound of that. I freeze what I can't use immediately and it thaws beautifully especially if you let it thaw slowly in the fridge. Bonus: Nenette, my favorite sales rep, is a doll, full of good humor and always ready to recommend something new if you tell her what you do and don't like. PS They definitely take credit cards. Not a cash only place as an earlier reviewer wrote."

"I came in here today to try some of that DRY AGED FISH. Last time, I got the black cod with potatoes and kale. Today's special was grilled fish over salad, and my choice of dry aged fish was ora salmon, sea bass, and John Dory. Had this along with the Brown Sugar Iced Latte. Wow. Dry aged fish was great. A great fish taste that is rich and oily (in a good way). Not fishy at all. This seafood restaurant is on point. And the latte was great as well. I was just as equally pleased this time around. It's hard to believe that not too many restaurants offer Dry aged fish, as The Joint is one of few in the US. I have a feeling that if this becomes popular, we will see more restaurants offering dry aged fish. I would highly recommend this place, especially if you are a seafood connoisseur. It's fresh, tasty, and well-executed seafood at its best done by a passionate owner and chef. You can tell how much he loves his craft. Another plus is that the ambience here is nice too, a great place to have coffee and hangout. "Went there with my wife for lunch.We ordered the red trout with Persian rice, grilled veggies and fries ?My wife suddenly didn't feel so well so we had to leave (the food wasn't ready yet).While taking my wife to the car, the owner was kind enough to get the dishes ready really fast, packed them up for take out and personally brought them to our car in the parking lot while we were pulling out.We enjoyed the food in our place and let me tell you .....the fish was so flavorfull and fresh like we never had before !Thank you so much for your kind customer service, hospitality and thank you for the amazing food ?"
