"If you’re a tourist and looking for some diverse, trendy place with a 10 page menu, this is not the place for you! I was walking through Gas Town and thinking to myself, it’s pretty touristy here, yet I was hungry and looking for a cute little place when I walked by a billboard pointing me in the direction of the water. I quickly checked reviews on this restaurant and they were very good. I went in and an elderly gentleman took my order right away. Had I been time swept into the year 1995? Because a soup and sandwich was under $10! I couldn’t believe my eyes, and especially since I was in Gas Town in Vancouver! I made my way up to the second level which had an amazing view! I chatted with an international group of students from the Vancouver Film School, while drinking my amazing latte and waiting for the rest of my lunch. My food tasted like my mum had just made me lunch! The Reuben was delicious and the lentil soup was very nice as well. The whole experience was exactly what I was looking for."

"The restaurant itself is quite small with tight spaces. There are a lot to choose from the menu with mediocre prices. We ordered 4 different hot pots which come with rice, meat and vegetables and a bowl of soup. When the hot pot came, we couldn't believe how much rice it had inside! It was quite a lot and the rice was actually "sticking" to the hot pot, meaning, the rice was cooked in it. We also ordered a dish of BBQ duck and another dish of salt & spicy tofu. The duck was good and not too salty. The tofu was not fried crunchy enough and not spicy enough. It came with some "wet" onion and that made the tofu soft quicker! That was not the right way to make salt & spicy tofu! Remember to bring CASH as the method of payment is only cash or with interact (debit card). We would go back again to try some other dishes! By the way, the prices posted on their website is not current! When we were there on Jan. 21, 2017, the prices were about $1 more at the restaurant."

"I come here often for lunch as it is always quite busy - a great sign.In the back are two or three vietnamese aunties working away on orders. I am often greeted by young members of the family or family friends. They took your order promptly and can easily be waved down for bill or drinks. The food here hits the spot for me and its very affordable to kerrisdale. I tend to stick to the house special as it is very value oriented for noodle soup.Overall a a pleasant joint, I just wish they stayed open longer."

"I'd like to say a little better than Average, stars is the right score. The Pho Hoa's feel a little corporate as there are several of them around the city. But the location is clean and the staff are friendly and professional. Nice tables...and decor make this a family friendly location that suits the Granville Corridor well. Good luck and Bon Appetite!"

"They used to be not bad for a 24hr pho place, but recently it tastes like they've been diluting the sauces with vinegar. Lots. Horrible service, but who really cares it is what it is."

"This particular Vietnamese restaurant is located on Cambie Road in the Continental Plaza next to the bank. Since I was doing banking anyways and it was lunchtime, I decided to go next door for lunch. The 2 of us arrived around 12:15 on this Wednesday afternoon and there were 8-10 people in the restaurant at the time. The restaurant is clean and has a modern looking interior. One side of the room had tables and the other side booths. We sat on the table side and noticed all the tables had built-in burners in the table top. Previous existence was a hotpot restaurant? My spouse and I ordered 3 dishes to share:• Cha Gio (spring rolls) - $2.95• Banh mi thit nuong (grilled pork sandwich) - $4.95• #18 – Pho tai nam gau gan sach (round eye steak, brisket, flank, tendon & tripe) - $9.95Pho dishes were $8.70 for a small and $9.95 for a large; probably on par price-wise with the Pho Hoa chain of Vietnamese restaurants but more expensive than the Thai Son chain. For example the Thai Son house special that contains a bit of every beef protein costs $7.95 for a large and $6.85 for a small.Spring rolls were average tasting and small size-wise – disappointing. The banh mi was just okay; nothing spectacular. The filling for the sandwich left a lot to be desired – a little skimpy on the pork meat. However, my spouse commented on how fresh and tasty the baguette was.The pho was okay; nothing to complain about. Both of us did not have “dry mouth syndrome” normally associated with the use of the flavour enhancer MSG.The total bill came to $18.74 before tips. The service was okay. The food was served within an acceptable time.Overall, I would rate the service as acceptable / average as was the food - 3 out of 5 for taste and value / portion size.Notes and Tips:• Seating for 42 patrons • The restaurant’s baguettes are made by a bakery.• Check out the website but there are no menus on the site.• There were 2 types of hot sauces available – chilli oil and siracha sauce.• Separate washrooms for men and women but I would say it is not wheelchair accessible – very small. Men’s washroom was clean.• We had come to the Pho Ho a week earlier after being frustrated with the lack of parking at the Thai Son restaurant on Garden City Road. It was around lunchtime and there were only 1 or 2 customers at the Pho Ho and we decided not to go in figuring it was a sign that the restaurant wasn’t good. We eventually went back to Thai Son for a late lunch. See my review of Thai Son restaurant.• We have been to the Continental Plaza on 2 other occasions to eat. See my reviews of Gyo O Japanese restaurant and Dragon View Chinese Cuisine"
