"Wish we 'd got to sample these highly rated Amazing Roasts!!! My partner called to check availability for lunch and was told yes come on down. We were not even 10 minutes away. By the time we entered the bar and had spoken with the bar staff members no one had a recollection of the phone call booking at all, actually confusing us with another booking for a couple with two children? So off she went to check with her Manager. Yes you 're table will be ready it 's just being Wiped Down have a drink whilst you 're waiting. We waited 10 15 minutes in the bar waiting for the table wipe down. I returned to the bar to politely enquire on how things were progressing, the two bar staff I spoke didn 't have a clue I was waiting and again went to speak to the Manager whilst we sat back down to finish our drinks. After no member of staff returned we gave up waiting and walked out. Friendly but really poor customer service. Really poor!! Oh and the couple with the two kids arrived after us and were seated straight away!! :"

"We literally stumbled across this pub as we searched for a good old fashioned Sunday roast. As soon as we walked in we had a warm and friendly welcome and the offer of a table. Just looking around at the other customers tucking into their delicious roast we couldn't wait to get settled in for a treat. The menu offered a great selection at a truly reasonable price...with desert included! The pub has a real suntrap of a courtyard garden and when lunch arrived it was beautifully cooked and generous. It is now our pub of choice for Sunday lunch and hopefully some live music judging by the event on offer. This is a small pub worth visiting and supporting, so don't think twice, walk in and sample some good old fashioned service,food and prices"

"Came for a bottomless brunch with friends on Saturday. Had the best time. We were welcomed by Justine, who was lovely and friendly. The drinks were flowing from the minute we sat down brilliantly looked after by Chelsea who explained everything to us. Our food was so good and came out really quickly so thank you Daryll. Our glasses were never empty as Chelsea kept checking on us all. We planned to go to another pub after our two hours but the atmosphere in The Slug was perfect and so we stayed all evening. We left happy and extremely merry. Will be booking again, especially with the new menu on the way!!"
