"A great wholesome country pub, easy to get to from London, with outstanding food and service that makes you feel like your staying with friends. The accommodation is excellent and we loved the breakfast in bed touch. (home made granola, turmeric ginger beer and freshly baked croissants) Every detail has been thoughtfully considered. Top this off with a breathtaking view from our room. I can't fault it. A must, to check out and bring your friends. Thanks guys for a fantastic weekend!"

"Beautiful location, very friendly staff, great menu with options for vegan/gluten free. the vegan burger (which also contains chips (not shown). lots of parking, with large access to the main road. very large seating area in the free, which offers a socially distant experience and a much needed relief from the sun. edit: I returned today to try the vegan breakfast I had with a mandellatte. both were delicious!"

"Stopped for lunch on our walk of The Chiltern Hills to find a picturesque pub on the edge of town. Inside a central bar surrounded by several spacious rooms ... Some laid out for dining. Two cask ales on offer and both sampled were in excellent condition and well served by friendly staff. Unfortunately even though their website says they are serving lunch on Tuesdays ... Apparently that's all wrong. Yet another establishment in the hospitality sector that cares little for new clients and passing trade. The whole town seems to be semi comatose on weekday lunchtimes. Best avoided if you're looking to dine."
