What William M likes about Sawa Sushi:
We're to eat here as it was one of my favorite sashimi restaurants and found they still make great sushi but changed the restaurant to reservations only and it's a 6 course dinner for 160.00 per person. I imagine it's probably worth it if you remember to make the reservation. Sorry you couldn't serve me tonight. read more.

What Henry W doesn't like about Sawa Sushi:
The food presentation was attractive, but the experience was just OK. One sashimi was not fully de-thawed and some of the courses felt too salty to us. The chef isn’t quite friendly but still added 18% tip by himself. Definitely not worth $460 for two persons. read more.

It's been over 20 years and I love Sawa Sushi still! Mr Sawa squeezed me in last minute as a solo diner since I was shopping in the area. So kind of him....

"Middle of the road experience. Their maple log, regular glaze, and apple fritter are all standard donuts. The old fashioned was dry and didn't have much taste. Their cronut was delicious and unique (hard to find a place that does cronuts). We also enjoyed their little pocket filled pastries. They don't do bagels or bagel sandwiches which a lot of their reviews and pictures talk about. I couldn't figure out if they used to do them or reviews were just wrong (language barrier which is common in the Bay Area). There is a bagel shop right next door though. Every item we bought was $2.50 or $3 each."

"Kakuna is home to the BIGGEST sushi rolls. Each time I go I am never disappointed and the price is so good i’ve never been to a sushi store with prices as low as this, while maintaining a pretty good quality. The staff are extremely kind and help create a nice atmosphere. The only thing that I would take note of before going is that there is very limited seating, so I usually just get togo. I wouldn’t suggest this place if you are looking for a fancy sit down place, but more of a chill hangout with friends. Truly my go to spot for sushi now :"
